Welcome to The Medicinal Melange

I grew up working with plants my whole life and studied aromatherapy for a few years after a friend introduced me to it. However, it wasn't until my daughter was diagnosed with PANDAS that I felt called to explore Herbalism. Though she was prescribed a copious amount of prescription medicine and was doing bi-monthly inpatient treatments, my daughter was not having any sort of actual healing happening. The doctor's solution? Don't let my daughter get sick the rest of her life (I wish I was making that up).  I was sure there was a better way- something that wasn't ruining her system while "helping" her diagnosis and racking up a lifetime of debt.

I started learning folk herbalism and that worked well enough, but I was looking for something a little more in-depth. I enrolled in many different herbal classes and finally made the big leap to learn at a traditional school for western herbalism. I have been actively helping friends, family, and my community for years and am thankful for those trusted relationships. It is a personal choice to use herbal recommendations and I 100% see the value in using herbs first in many situations that I used to rely on over the counter and some prescription medicines.
